Durango Juvenile Detention Facility
for Maricopa County of Arizona

The total project consisted of eight buildings: four for security housing, one for food preparation and storage, one excercise and recreation centre, one four storey administration building joined with a four storey building that has twelve seperate courtrooms. The connection between the two buildings is a two storey entrance lobby.

Products provided include security glazing and over 18,000 square feet of custom painted curtain wall and skylights, glazed with high performance, insulated glazing units.

A mockup was constructed for testing by an independant curtain wall testing firm.

Testing included pre-load, air infiltration, static and dynamic water infiltration, positive and negative structural, vertical floor displacement and lateral seismic. The mockup passed all tests with flying colors and installation commenced.

The project was completed on schedule with zero deficiencies.
